Comfort and fit for growing children

A child’s glasses should fit comfortably and stay in place during daily activities. At Dr. Schwartz Optometrist & Associates, bring your child’s prescription and current glasses so you can discuss their vision needs, fit, and available eyewear choices.

What to look for

Frames should sit securely without pressing against the cheeks or eyelashes. Lens material and impact resistance are important for children; ask about polycarbonate lenses and protection suited to your child’s activities. Growing children may need fit adjustments, so tell us if glasses slide, pinch, or become uncomfortable.

When nearsightedness is increasing

We offer Essilor Stellest eyeglass lenses as a myopia management option. FDA marketing authorization covers correction of myopia, with or without astigmatism, and slowing progression in eligible children ages 6–12 when treatment starts. An examination determines suitability; regular follow-up remains important.

Help your child settle into glasses

Follow the doctor’s wearing instructions, keep glasses in a case when they are not being worn, and ask for help if the fit or vision seems wrong. Ask about costs, available frame sizes, and any applicable warranty before ordering.
